Spring

Once home to a Native American tribe known as the Orcoquiza or Akokisa, Spring became a busy railroad town during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Today, the community is known as a vibrant town brimming with world-class shopping, restaurants, art galleries, museums, and all sorts of festivals. It serves as an ideal place for people looking to live near the big city, but who still want to experience the rustic charm of the countryside.

Things to Do

One of the most widely recognized attractions in the Spring area is Old Town Spring, the historic heart of the community, it is the area close to where the first trackyards were built during the early 20th century. Nowadays, Old Town Spring is a popular shopping and dining destination, with its collection of historic houses restored and converted into a variety of Victorian-style shops. The district provides an enjoyable, nostalgic shopping experience that can lead you to unique treasures, great dining, interesting artworks, and fun-filled events.

A leisurely stroll in this unique little shopping village will have you browsing for antiques, quilts, glasswork, figurines, bird cages and feeders, and gourmet snacks and ingredients, among a variety of all sorts of interesting things. And in case you get hungry from all that walking around, take a break from your treasure hunt and grab a bite at one of the many snack bars, sandwich shops, and family restaurants scattered around the area.

Old Town Spring also hosts a variety of events every month, all year round. Some of the more popular events are Springfest, the Texas Wine & Art Festival, and the Texas Crawfish & Music Festival.
